{"id":115638,"date":"2023-01-31T15:32:37","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T13:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/candle.gr\/hard-soy-wax-vegan-soy-pb-for-molds\/"},"modified":"2026-10-18T19:51:02","modified_gmt":"2026-10-18T16:51:02","slug":"hard-soy-wax-vegan-soy-pb-for-molds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/hard-soy-wax-vegan-soy-pb-for-molds\/","title":{"rendered":"Hard Soy Wax &#8211; Vegan Soy PB for molds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\" id=\"wpb-content-root\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\nVegan Soy Pillar PB (pellets) is a firm soy wax for pillar candles made in <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-molds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">moulds<\/a> and for <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-molds\/wax-tarts-melts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wax melts<\/a>. Candle.gr supplies it as Kerax EcoSoya\u00ae Pillar. The manufacturer describes this wax as biodegradable and vegan, with no animal ingredients or animal testing in its manufacture. It supports fragrance loads of up to 10%.\n<p>\nAvoid heating the wax above 85\u00b0C or keeping it hot for extended periods. Store wax in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3BB;&#x3BF;&#x3CD;&#x3C0;&#x3B9;&#x3B1;\">&gt; Moulds<\/h3>\n<p>\nMoulds should be clean and at least at room temperature. Preheating them to about 45\u201350\u00b0C can help. Warming the mould with a hair dryer before pouring is another option.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C7;&#x3C1;&#x3CE;&#x3BC;&#x3B1;\">&gt; Colour<\/h3>\n<p>\nVegan Soy Pillar PB can be coloured with candle-compatible, oil-soluble <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-color-dyes\/\">dyes<\/a> in powder, liquid, chip or block form. For powder dyes added directly to the wax, heat the wax to about 75\u00b0C, add the dye and stir until it dissolves. Powder dyes can also be dissolved in fragrance before being added to the melted wax; make sure they have dissolved completely. For powder dyes already dissolved in fragrance, liquid dyes or dye blocks, heat the wax to 70\u00b0C. A small amount of black dye can deepen the colour.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3AC;&#x3C1;&#x3C9;&#x3BC;&#x3B1;\">&gt; Fragrance<\/h3>\n<p>\nVegan Soy PB supports <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/fragrances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fragrance<\/a> loads of up to 10%. The maximum is not a recommended dosage for every fragrance. Check the specific fragrance guidance and see <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/how-do-i-calculate-how-much-perfume-i-need-for-my-candle\/\">how to calculate the amount of fragrance oil<\/a>.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C6;&#x3C5;&#x3C4;&#x3AF;&#x3BB;&#x3B9;\">&gt; Wick selection<\/h3>\n<p>\nNatural waxes often need larger <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-wicks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wicks<\/a> than paraffin waxes. Fragrance, dye, candle shape and size all affect wick selection. An oversized wick can cause soot, a faster burn and wax leaking through the side of a pillar candle. An undersized wick can cause tunnelling and a small flame. Allow the candle to rest for 48 hours after pouring before carrying out burn tests.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3BA;&#x3B1;&#x3C4;&#x3B1;&#x3C3;&#x3BA;&#x3B5;&#x3C5;&#x3AE;\">&gt; Pouring<\/h3>\n<p>\nThe best pouring temperature depends on the mould type and size, fragrance, dye and intended finish. Pouring at about 55\u201365\u00b0C may help the candle release from the mould; the current EcoSoya product guidance recommends approximately 60\u00b0C. Add the fragrance and mix it in shortly before pouring where practical. If the results are unsatisfactory, test adjustments in steps of 5\u201310\u00b0C. Preheated moulds may also help release.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-double-pour\">&gt; Topping up<\/h3>\n<p>\nVegan Soy PB is designed for a single pour. Some large pillar candles may need a top-up to obtain an even surface.\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x3C8;&#x3CD;&#x3BE;&#x3B7;-&#x3BA;&#x3B5;&#x3C1;&#x3B9;&#x3CE;&#x3BD;\">&gt; Cooling and burn testing<\/h3>\n<p>\nLeave the candles undisturbed to cool at room temperature, around 25\u00b0C. Wait 48 hours after pouring before burn testing.\n<p>\nWe recommend this wax for scented <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-molds\/wax-tarts-melts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wax melts<\/a> and candles in <a href=\"https:\/\/candle.gr\/en\/candle-molds\/silicone-candle-molds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">silicone moulds<\/a>.
