Pillar Soy Wax for moulds – Vegan Soy PB (Kerax EcoSoya® Pillar)

Kerax EcoSoya® Pillar. Vegan Soy PB (Kerax EcoSoya® Pillar) is a hard soy wax specially designed for the production of candles in moulds and tarts. Kerax’s EcoSoya® Pillar blend is biodegradable, environmentally friendly, vegan, no animal substances are used and no animal testing has been performed. Kerax’s EcoSoya® Pillar is designed for fragrance at up to 10% level.

Do not heat the wax above 85°C for a long time. Candles should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture.

✅ Moulds

Moulds should be clean and at least at room temperature, although preheating to about 45 – 50°C can be beneficial, as can heating the mould with a blow dryer before casting.

✅ Colour

Kerax Hard Soy Wax – EcoSoya® Pillar is easily coloured with powder, liquid, chips, blocks, etc. When using powdered dyes, heat the wax to about 70°C, add the dye and stir until dissolved. Powdered dyes can also be dissolved in fragnance and then added to the melted wax, make sure the dye is completely dissolved before adding it. When using powdered dyes dissolved in fragnance, liquid dyes or colour blocks heat the wax to 70°C. If you want to make your wax darker or richer, add some black dye to the colour you are using.

✅ Perfume

Vegan Soy PB is designed for a fragrance load up to 10%.

✅ Fuse

Natural waxes tend to require larger wick sizes than traditional paraffin waxes. The fragrance, colour, shape and size of the candles have a great influence on the right choice of wick. A large wick can cause soot, accelerated burn time and wax leakage from the wax side. A very small wick will cause candle tunneling and produce a smaller flame. Burn tests should be carried out after the wax has had a chance to cure for 48 hours after pouring so that crystallisation is complete.

✅ Construction

Pouring temperatures may vary depending on the type and size of the mould, the fragrance or dye load used and of course the results the candle maker wishes to achieve. Greater release from the moulds can be achieved by pouring at a temperature of around 75°C, although this will depend on the size and shape of the wax produced. Perfume should be added and mixed immediately before pouring when possible. If you have difficulties with the pouring temperature, try lower or higher temperatures in increments of 5 – 10°C. Consider pouring into preheated moulds for improved release properties.

✅ Double-Pour

Vegan Soy PB is designed to require only one casting, however for some large columns. supplementation is required to achieve the best wax surface.

✅ Candle cooling

Cure them at room temperature (about 22-25°C). Candles should be allowed to sit undisturbed for 24 hours before the burn test.

• We recommend it for making aromatic tarts and candles in silicone moulds.
