Container Soy Pellet – Vegan Soy Pellet (Kerax KeraSoy Container 4130)

Vegan Soy Pellet — Kerax KeraSoy Container 4130 is a soy wax blend in pastilles for container candles. Kerax describes it as biodegradable and vegan-friendly, with no animal products used and no animal testing during manufacture.

• Melting point: 42–48°C (IP371), typical value 45.5°C.
• Congealing point: 34–42°C (ASTM D938), typical value 39°C.
• Pouring: approximately 45–55°C, adjusted for the container and formulation.
• Fragrance: up to 10–12% in Kerax guidance, depending on compatibility. This is not a required dosage; respect the specific fragrance limits.
• Burn testing: after resting for 48 hours.

Containers and heating

Use clean containers suitable for candles, at least at room temperature. Preheating to approximately 45–50°C may help. Stir while melting and avoid heating above 85°C or for extended periods.

Colour

For liquid dyes, colour blocks, powder already dissolved in fragrance or no dye, Kerax specifies heating to approximately 70°C. For suitable powder candle dyes, it specifies approximately 75°C and stirring until fully dissolved. These are processing temperatures, not the wax melting point.

Fragrance and pouring

Choose fragrances suitable for natural waxes. Let the wax reach the chosen pouring temperature, add the fragrance and mix thoroughly shortly before pouring where practical. Start at approximately 45–55°C and adjust through testing. If fragrance droplets, surface defects or poor flame quality appear, review fragrance compatibility, dosage and wick selection.

Wicks

Wick selection depends on the container, fragrance and colour. Eco Stabilo or wooden wicks are Candle.gr suggestions for testing, not a guarantee for every formulation. Kerax specifies trimming the wick to approximately 6 mm (¼ inch). Burn-test every combination.

Cooling and burn testing

Let the candles cool undisturbed at room temperature, approximately 25°C, and wait 48 hours before burn testing. One pour is usually sufficient, but some large containers may need topping up before the wax cools completely.

Kerax skin-contact statement

Kerax’s statement dated 9 April 2021 lists KeraSoy Container among the wax grades independently assessed for use in skin-contact formulations. The study used a 96-hour primary irritation patch test in a panel of 30 healthy volunteers.

The stated claims apply to the wax phase. Fragrance oils, dyes and other ingredients must be considered before making equivalent claims for a finished mixture. The statement does not automatically certify every finished massage candle.
