PARAVEG CB – A blend of paraffin and vegetable wax for containers (Kerawax 4105)

PARAVEG CB — Kerawax 4105 Container is a soft mixture of paraffin and plant-based ingredients, in pellets, for jar candles.

Kerax describes it as vegan. The manufacturer’s current website states that the formulation also contains palm-based raw materials from RSPO-certified supply chains. It is a blend, not a purely plant-based wax.

Basic Preparation Instructions

1. Use a clean, dry container suitable for candles and preheating. Preheat the container to at least 60°C, following the container manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Melt the wax using controlled heat and a thermometer until it is completely liquid. The melting point is not the same as the heating temperature.
3. Add a suitable fragrance and mix thoroughly. Kerax specifies a range of 5–10% for the mixture’s performance; confirm compatibility through testing. Use wax-soluble dyes.
4. Pour at 59–63°C. Allow to cool completely and conduct burn tests for each combination of container, fragrance, color, and wick.

TDS v5.0 does not specify a particular wax heating temperature or a fixed curing time. Follow the instructions for the materials you are using and verify your process through testing.

Wick selection

Candle.gr suggests the EcoStabilo series as a starting point for testing PARAVEG CB. The final choice of type and size depends on the container and composition and is confirmed by a combustion test.
