The lemon was originally a small spiny evergreen tree from India. It is now common in southern Europe, Florida and California.
The fragrance of the essential oil is similar to fresh lemon, but richer and more concentrated. Lemon is highly valued for its high antibacterial properties. On the skin and hair it can be used for its cleansing effects, as well as for treating cuts. The essential oil contains vitamin C, which helps to combat oiliness, acne and cellulite.
Precautions: Always test for skin sensitivity before widespread use. Non-toxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing. Avoid use in direct sunlight. May cause eye irritation.
