History: The Aboriginal peoples of Australia, better known as Aboriginal people, have long been aware of the valuable healing properties of Tea tree oil or tea tree. Similarly, tea tree oil has a long history of use in the field of aromatherapy. In World War II, Tea Tree growers and cutters were exempted from military service until enough essential oil had been collected. The oil was a high-value product as it was distributed to every soldier and sailor as part of their survival kit to treat tropical infections and infected wounds from harmful bacteria and fungi as well as cuts, scratches and insect bites.
