How do I calculate how much wax I need to fill a container?

The amount of wax we need to make a candle is usually one of the first things we ask ourselves when we start the process of making our own candles.

This is the most common question along with how to calculate how much perfume I will need for my candle.

To find out how many grams of wax you will need for your container, follow the steps below:

We calculate the specific gravity of the wax relative to water:

▪️Βάζουμε the wax container we want to fill on the scale & zero it (A).

▪️Γεμίζουμε the container with water up to the point where our wax will reach (B).

▪️Πολλαπλασιάζουμε the weight of the water we see on the scale times 0.9.

▪️Το result (C) is an accurate measurement of the wax content of our container (i.e. the weight of the wax)!

Example:

B = 200g Water weight

C = Candle weight

Formula: B x 0,9 = C

200g. x 0,9 = 180g

So we will need 180g of candle!
