Gel Wax – Gel Wax, a transparent wax in gel consistency. A combination of paraffin oil and polymer resin that gives the wax a slow melting rate and long burning time.
Because of the clarity of the wax, it is common to add various decorations to the wax. These ornaments can be glitter, small glass ornaments, anything fireproof.
Gel Wax can only be used in containers.
It has a higher melting point than paraffin wax.
- Melting temperature: + 100° C
- Perfume percentage: 6%
So, either melt it in small quantities in a bain-marie or directly on the fire, but with great care, so as to reach the increased temperature required.
It definitely needs attention like the beeswax because high temperatures can cause burns.
We recommend dipping the wick in gel wax before placing the wick in the container to avoid melting the wick’s paraffin coating during casting.
- Candle.gr proposes the series of wicks Waxed wick Eco Stabilo, from No3 to No14 depending on the size of your container. With No3 being for a shot glass and No14 for a container with a diameter up to 8 cm.
- If you want to colour your candle and keep the clarity we recommend using FCF Liquid Colours.
