Eugenia caryophyllata, also known as clove, is an essential oil derived from the leaves of the clove. It is widely used in traditional medicine, aromatherapy and as a flavouring agent in food and beverages. It has a warm, spicy and woody aroma that is often described as sweet and rich.
In aromatherapy, clove essential oil is valued for its anti-inflammatory, antiviral and analgesic properties. It is often used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and soothe muscle and joint pain. It is also believed to have a stimulating effect on the mind and can be used to enhance mental clarity and focus.
