I make stirrers for mixing the wax
Just as Panoramix is a master at mixing the magic potion with his ladle, you can become an ace at mixing the wax, fragrance and colour for your handmade wax creations, without stealing all the ladles from the kitchen. Candle.gr shows you how to use straws for skewers!
You will need:
5 Straws for skewers
Some paper tape
Some string or wick.
Scissors
1) Cut off the tips of the straws.
2) Press them all together so that all the tips are together and you create a trident with 5 sticks.
3) Wrap some tape over the top to stabilize the construction. Turn the piece that sticks out inwards and continue to roll it up to create a handle of paper tape at the top.
4) To open our trident/shaker we took some twine at the base of the handle/paper tape inside out of the straws, continue inside out with the twine and secure it after 5 rounds and secure it with some more tape.
5) Finally! You have in your hands the magic wand of clay carving, the ladle of Panoramix, the thunderbolt of Zeus!
The how and why about wax mixing:
The multiple straws create a high mixing intensity of the liquid wax, which helps to mix the fragrance properly with the wax and the colour.
At the same time on the surface of the liquid wax, the small diameter of the straws create almost zero air and liquid wax reflux, thus reducing the introduction of air and bubbles into our wax!
The above two points are important to perfect our art. Proper mixing is needed especially in large quantities of perfume so that the perfume and the candle are combined, but with a light stirring of the candle so that no bubbles are introduced into the candle and appear either on the surface of the candles or on the sides while the candle cools.
